Ivan Garcia-Hidalgo is a Republican Strategist and Political Commentator who appears regularly on Fox News, CNN, CNN en Español, NTN24 and RT. He's currently a Founding Partner for Battleground Maryland, Chairman of the Hispanic Leadership Council PAC, and Foundation.
Ivan's political experience runs deep. He’s been involved in campaigns for the Florida legislature, House of Representatives, US Senate and Governor. As for Presidential campaigns, in 2008 Ivan was a member of Mitt Romney’s Hispanic Steering Committee where he provided guidance and strategic advice on Hispanic Issues and served as a media surrogate. During the 2012 GOP Primaries he joined Newt Gingrich as his Hispanic Communications Deputy, bringing talking points, position papers and overall strategy to that aspect of the campaign. In the general election he joined Gov. Romney on his National Finance Committee, and served as a media surrogate. For the 2016 Presidential election cycle Ivan was quick to support Donald Trump and did so in all Spanish language media, but also on CSPAN and FOX News when it was a Hispanic related issue. He also became part of CNNEE's elections panel during primaries and the general election, being the only one on the panel to predict the Trump victory and the path.
On the policy side, Ivan has spent his entire career initiating, supporting or participating in many of the pressing trade and other issues facing our country and region during the past 20 years including the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA, 1992), Central American-Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR, 2005), Peruvian Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA, 2006), Chile FTA (2005), Columbian Trade Promotion Agreement (CTPA, 2006), Trade Promotion Authority (TPA, 2002), Andean Trade Preference Act (ATPA, 1991), Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act (ATPDEA, 2002), The Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act (S. 1033, McCain-Kennedy), The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act (H.R. 1836), Florida FTAA 2004-2006, Telecommunications Act of 1996, and the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act of 2006.
Ivan lives in Washington DC with his wife Martha and two children, David and Jessica.
John Wehrung started his political career working for Ben Ginsberg and Lee Atwater at the RNC during the Bush/Quayle Administration. John became Political Director at the Florida GOP under Tom Slade and eventually served as the Political Director for the Florida Chamber of Commerce. He’s won hundreds of legislative seats over the past three decades and has perfected the art of the coordinated campaign.
One of John’s accomplishments that stands above all others is the Southern Hat Trick. John served key roles in turning the Florida, North Carolina & Mississippi state houses from blue to red - all for the first time since the Civil War. No one person had achieved this unique feat before and it’s doubtful it can be repeated.
›Working with Daniel Webster to win the Florida House in 1996; Thom Tillis in 201O to takeover the North Carolina House; and again, in 2011, traveling to Mississippi to help Phillip Gunn take over the Mississippi House, John knows how to defeat defeat the party of Big Government and pry the gavel away from entrenched Democrat Majorities. "Find something you love to do and you'll never work a day in your life." After a quarter century years of fighting for the Republican cause of freedom and individual liberty, John is fulfilling his purpose in life.
We grew-up here in Maryland. From the smooth sailing seashore to the cosmopolitan cities, to the rugged mountain trails and rushing rivers of the panhandle, we have family and deep roots here. Maryland is our home.
Our families were born and raised in Maryland. We grew-up playing in the Maryland Parks, going to church, public schools, cub-scouts and little-league. We spent the summers at Deep Creak Lake and Ocean City and our winters sledding down the hills of horse country or skiing at Wisp. We ate Maryland Fried Chicken and Chesapeake Bay crabs every chance we got and made life-long friends as we watched Maryland's farm pastures and bucolic small towns grow into thriving, cities and modern suburban planned communities. All the while, Maryland hasn't lost her mid-Atlantic charm.
From the eastern shore to the panhandle area of the west, the Allegheny Mountain Mountains and the Appalachian Mountain range, we have deep roots and emotional ties across the Old Line State and we're dedicated to making Maryland a better place for everyone to work and live while preserving the greatness of her traditional past.
