Over the past 20 years Craig has quickly climbed the corporate ladder through the use of business acumen and IT skills to bridge the gap between IT and business within organisations.

Eli Goldberg

Eli brings a practitioner’s lens to risk and resilience, combining hands-on business continuity and crisis management experience with a software-led approach to helping organisations build effective operational resilience.

As Head of UK and EMEA, Eli leads the team and the growth of Battleground Live across the region, working with risk and resilience leaders to turn risk registers, BIAs, business continuity plans and exercise programs into connected, repeatable workflows for reporting and governance. He is known for cutting through “paper resilience”, focusing teams on what actually works under pressure, and designing pragmatic operating rhythms that improve oversight, accountability and speed of response.

Eli’s background spans regulated and high consequence environments including healthcare, logistics, financial services and government. A recipient of RMIA’s Risk Award in 2024, he specialises in translating complex resilience requirements into clear, decision-ready outputs for executives and boards, helping clients uplift capability across risk, business continuity and crisis management.

Paul Minter

Paul brings a wealth of expertise in non-financial risk management, grounded in practical experience and a deep understanding of regulatory expectations after 5 years of leading APRA’s risk transformation team. 

Paul directly shaped regulatory standards and practices, including co-authoring Australian operational risk regulation (CPS 230). He integrated data-driven insights into APRA’s approach to non-financial risk, shifting the focus from design to operational effectiveness testing, and piloted natural language processing for non-financial risk analysis.

Paul’s career started in the Bank of England, implementing the very first days of Basel III operational risk capital. In between, Paul amassed a decade of experience as a non-financial risk specialist within the financial services industry, covering all three lines of defence.

Joe McDavitt

Joe helps our clients connect their resilience efforts with broader operational risk management goals.  Joe has held senior consultancy and management roles across retail banking, financial services, energy and utilities.

With more than 20 years experience, Joe has led significant projects in risk transformation, GRC system implementation, AML/CTF capability uplift and controls transformation. His experience has given him clear insight in to what works, and what doesn’t, when you seek to uplift risk management capabilities and behaviours. Joe’s focus is working with our APRA regulated clients, with a specific focus on CPS 230.

As Global Head of Product, Joe leads the team that develops our resilience-first GRC platform – Battleground Live. He is the key product architect, leveraging years of experience and hours of interactions with those who manage risk. Joe works closely with our product, sales and technical teams to deliver our vision of the greatest GRC – one that helps organisations to better think practically about how risks can impact how they achieve their goals and better prepare for and respond to disruption.

Luke Smailes

Luke is an engaging, versatile and experienced consultant who thrives on partnering with clients to develop effective solutions for real-world issues. 
Luke has held senior management roles across the consulting firms and financial services organisations, which provides him with a unique perspective on how to deliver services that generate sustainable, long-term value for clients
 
Luke is a proven leader with a track record of driving significant transformation projects in risk management, data & governance, technology & digital, regulatory change and GRC systems. Luke is also an expert in APRA’s prudential architecture, being consulted as part of the industry group at APRA in relation to CPS 230 and CPG 230, as well as numerous other prudential regulatory reforms over the past two years.
 
On a personal front, Luke, a West Australian native and West Coast Eagles supporter, feels most at home by the beach, living in Bondi for 10 years. He loves his golf and is an avid skier, trading the speedos for a ski-suit in the winter months.

Georgina Stevenson

Georgina’s 8+ years of experience working within large-scale projects and holding certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Certified Practicing Risk Associate (CPRA), and an MBA is a true asset to Battleground clients.

She approaches risk and resilience management with the same mindset, that you can never be too prepared.

Georgina views risk as a unique opportunity to explore every potential avenue for organisational growth. By identifying and assessing risks, she helps organisations not only mitigate potential threats but also uncover new opportunities for expansion. Her approach involves implementing robust controls and insightful dashboards that support strategic vision and ensure compliance.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Georgina is a true Harry Potter and Star Wars enthusiast (nerd) and a keen powerlifter. Her passion for continuous improvement extends beyond the workplace, inspiring those around her to embrace challenges and strive for excellence.

Jack Salkild

Jack brings extensive experience in emergency operations, governance, education, and large-scale disaster recovery projects to Battleground, helping organisations build resilience and navigate complex challenges.

Jack has worked across frontline emergency response, crisis leadership, and large-scale recovery efforts. As an Intensive Care Paramedic Manager and Clinical Educator, he led emergency response, coordinated multi-agency operations, and developed training exercises from desktop drills to high-fidelity simulations.

Jack has applied his expertise to governance and process improvement roles in state government disaster projects, helping to streamline operations and enhance resilience strategies. At Battleground, he brings this experience together for his clients by developing tailored solutions that drive emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity.

Outside of work, Jack loves pushing his limits in the gym. When he’s not lifting, he’s watching live music or spending time with his dog, making the most of Sydney’s parks and beaches.

Damian brings two decades of industry experience to Battleground clients, with in-depth expertise across FMCG, logistics, retail, and telecommunications.

He is particularly skilled in delivering operational resilience and risk intelligence in a government business enterprise (GBE) environment, instilling confidence in his clients.

Mark is a passionate, commercially savvy sales leader who partners with enterprise-level teams to turn governance, risk, and compliance goals into measurable outcomes. 

He brings a pragmatic, consultative style to his engagements and excels at building long-term customer value across regulated industries.

Over the past 20 years, Mark has helped organisations around the world digitise and strengthen their posture across enterprise risk, business continuity and resilience, incident management, and policy/compliance programs.
 
Mark has successfully led end-to-end enterprise SaaS cycles, from greenfield discovery to multi-year agreements, navigating procurement, security reviews, IT, and legal with both confidence and precision.
 
In addition to senior sales leadership roles, Mark founded and grew his own technology consultancy, giving him a first-hand understanding of what it takes to design, market, and deliver solutions that address complex, real-world challenges.

Robin van Bergen

Robin brings over 25 years of international senior IT/Technology experience to the team, combined with IT Risk, Security and CPS230 implementation experience.

Originally from the Netherlands, Robin has held senior management technology and consultancy roles in financial services, the publishing and education sector, including disaster recovery, resilient systems and operational risk management responsibilities (‘putting out virtual fires’). He has recently led the CPS230 implementation for a customer owned bank. 


Colloquially described as ‘Mr Fixit’, Robin assists in fixing problems with analysis, technology and/or process change, both operationally and through strategic digital transformation processes.

As a trusted advisor at/to the C-Suite, he works across organisational levels with different stakeholders and diverse teams of experts, translating ‘tech talk’ to plain language and leading the teams to success. In his spare time, he also puts out real fires as volunteer firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service, as well as enjoys outdoor activities, both on land and in/under water as scuba diver.

Peter Duffy​

Peter brings 30 years of experience in relation to risk, crisis and issues management, assurance, governance and associated practices that are fundamental to sound decision making in a successful and resilient organisation.

As Director of Enterprise Risk Services for Battleground Group Peter delivers outcomes that are reflective of his experience based belief that effective risk management is vital in both protecting and enhancing business impact and value.

Peter has most recently led the Enterprise Risk Function for the CSIRO, Australia’s National Science Agency. In that role he developed and enhanced CSIRO’s Risk Framework to support increased risk maturity and risk aware decision making at all levels of the organisation.

In addition, Peter was responsible for business continuity, crisis and issues management and has taken a leading role in both the development of continuity and crisis frameworks and the application of those frameworks through significant crisis events.

Peter is regularly invited to present at risk conferences on the challenge of effectively factoring risk into organisational decision making to both protect and enhance business value.

An avid cyclist, Ray is based in Melbourne and enjoys the vibrant culture and buzz of the city, right on his doorstep in Southbank.
